Types of Letters of Invitation and a Validity Period
On the basis of the length of your stay there are following types of visa:

for 30 days (short-term tourist letter of invitation enables a visit to Russia for business purposes as well if the visit is short-term, this visa is easier and cheaper) |

for 90 days (single or double entry) |
|
for 180 days (this letter of invitation enables you to enter Russia multiple times and you are expected to enter Russia for business) |
|
for 360 days (this letter of invitation enables you to enter Russia multiple times and you are expected to enter Russia for business). |
There is also an opportunity to obtain a multiple entry letter of invitation for 2 years (based on the fact that you have already used at least 1 multiple entry business visa).
Individual cases may obtain a business letter of invitation for multiple entry visa for a period of 2 up to 5 years.
Business letters of invitation may be of following types:

a) Original business letter of invitation issued by a partner agency. It a special printed form which is possible to be ordered from our agency. We may also send it by post to the address stated. This original letter of invitation may be issued within one working day and you are entitled to apply for a visa immediately after. A year-long business visa to Russia based on a letter of invitation may be provided on condition that one previous visit to Russia has been paid within the last year. b) Electronic letter of invitation / TELEX In compliance witht the Russian Consulate rules you will not be granted a business letter of invitation unless you have been to Russia at least once. This is, however, possible by a special type of invitation called TELEX. TELEX in an original invitation to obtain business or residence visa to Russia for a period of more than 30 days to one year. Based on this invitation, a year-long visa without a previous visit to the Russian Federation is possible to obtain. It is submitted to a particular Russian Consulate where you intend to further apply for the Russian visa. If you hold this invitation, you may obtain the visa only at a particular Consulate which the invitation was sent to and which it refers to.
